Beginner Percussion/Percussion Ensemble is a performance oriented ensemble designed to provide students varying levels of performance opportunities and a strong foundation in the world of percussion. Students will spend rehearsal time learning fundamental percussion skills on varied pitched and non pitched percussion instruments as well as learning music theory, and developing musicianship skills.
Percussion Ensemble students are required to perform in evening concerts. Typically a Winter Concert in January or a Spring Concert in May, depending on which semester the student takes this class. These are mandatory and make up a significant percentage of the grade for the class. This is a performance based class, so the performances are really important. Dates for these concerts usually be posted at the beginning of each school year so there will be lots of lead time, and can always be found on the CALENDAR page.
